Reflection

I think reflection can be many different things in life. It can be the way you see your self in a mirror, puddle, glass, body of water etc... https://www.google.com/search?q=reflection+deffinintion&rlz=1CASMAE_enUS588US588&oq=reflection+deffinintion&aqs=chrome..69i57.4330j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=reflection+definition&spell=1

We all think differently about ourselves because we all have different lives and bodies. Our mind is important for the way we see ourselves. Our reflection perceives our happiness and our inner thoughts towards the world and our lives. https://www.google.com/search?q=boulder+flatirons+reflection&rlz=1CASMAE_enUS588US588&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=4kRyU_2dBpWzyATV7YGACg&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=657#imgdii=_

Ever one is different and unique in their own ways. https://www.google.com/search?q=unique+definition&rlz=1CASMAE_enUS588US588&es_sm=93&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=QEVyU46WEMGNyASzhoLIDQ&ved=0CAUQ_AUoAA&biw=1366&bih=657&dpr=1

senioritis

Senioritis is really happening in Fairview High School with our Seniors. I personally am really affected by senioritis. Waking up everyday is very difficult and I think we should have more breaks than everyone else. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senioritis
This describes all of the seniors right now http://www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/signs-that-you-might-have-senioritis
We are all stressed with the work and trying to figure out what our future is going to be like. Money and a job is a big concern for summer and the next few months. We all just want to leave and move on to do what we really want in life.http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/senioritis-is-rarely-fatal/2014/02/04/8d072342-8b90-11e3-a5bd-844629433ba3_story.html

Authority

Authority is something that we all have to live with no matter what. We all have some type of authority in our life that keeps us on track from doing the bad things. https://www.google.com/search?q=authority&oq=authority&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.2328j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=2&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=authority+definition
The only thing that keeps the world from anarchy is authority (government). https://www.google.com/search?q=authority&oq=authority&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.2328j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=2&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=government+definition
The most authority we have in our lives is our family. We depend on them and therefore they have the right to keep us in line and tell us how to live.

Police are a huge part of authority. Maybe the biggest.

Passion

My human theme for this semester that I will be focusing on is passion. I would say that passion is gone in our society. Of course love and caring exists, but work, school, friends and family often get in they way. Passion isn't at all just within relationships. It's within our everyday life. Whether we can see through someone's eyes or walk in their shoes. Just seeing how others live their life and how fortunate some of us are in this world. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/passion
A passion could also be something you hate or dislike. For example you could have a Passionate hatred for racism, murder, or even school.
Since Martin Luther King Jr. Day is coming up soon on Monday the 20th. I would like to state that His speech on August 28th 1963, was all together mixed with various passions towards the blacks and whites of the world. http://teachingamericanhistory.org/library/document/i-have-a-dream-speech/
Movies with passion are one of my favorites, because sometimes that's how the world should really be. But in reality it is very different. In reality people are selfish and drunk on money lust. Without caring about the struggling and the broken. But movies portray the life we maybe used to live; or maybe even the life we've never had. One of my favorite movies is Forrest Gump - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest_Gump

worth

I think worth is just as simple as it is defined. How much you live for, how much you take for granted in life, how much meaning you have, your beliefs and loves for certain things and everything about you makes up what you're worth. But all it is defined by is how other people see your worth. When it should be how much you see the worth in yourself.

Beauty

Beauty comes in many forms. From others perceptions as well as our own. You can be physically beautiful, as well as internally beautiful. Even if people dont think of themselves as someone who is attractive; they may only feel that way because of the norms in society. People are affraid to be themselves in public. They dont want to be judged. Only thought of as normal. https://www.google.com/#q=definition+of+beauty

Beauty is so much more than how a person looks. Beauty is nature, animals, beliefs, love, happiness and so much more. Beauty is the first snow that falls when we reach winter. Beauty is the vibrant leaves that flourish in the fall. My favorite dog is a German Shepard because I think they are beautiful. There is just something amazing about their features and everything about them that brings me in. My favorite animal would be a snow tiger. Not the tigers in the zoo. They deserve to run free and be the beautiful animals they really are.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Shepherd

Mentor text work

I've seen the movie Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas only a few times. The movie was made in 1988. Its all about drugs and the experiences that follow. The movie has Johnny Depp as the main character. He does a really great job playing the part of a drugged up lunatic. Now I'm reading the book, and there hasn't seemed to be a big difference in how the movie is played out towards how the book is played out. Since everyday life is keeping our feet planted safely on the ground, it's interesting to see the experiences of others when they are somewhere else; lost in their mind. Its only another side to reality.

The book has lots of descriptive writing and dialog. Even when its hard to put together their experiences, it pulls you in with interest and difficulty understanding. The book makes you put together a puzzle every time there seems to be trouble understanding what is taking place.

“In a closed society where everybody's guilty, the only crime is getting caught. In a world of thieves, the only final sin is stupidity.”
Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

“Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant.”
Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Even though the book is about a trip to Las Vegas and many of the drugs they bring and use, the book brings to life the many experiences we all experience with life, and the situations that happen to us; which may be hard to explain to others. This book is teaching me the different ways of descriptive writing. Putting together a good story with many different styles of writing.
